Who We Are

Hi, we’re Kasi and Trent, first-time parents, coffee lovers, beach walkers, and the duo behind Chapter Lane. Like so many parents, we quickly learned that getting out of the house with a baby can feel like a military operation. One hot Australian summer, we realised that even something as simple as finding shade could turn a sunny outing into a stressful one.

Why We Started

Too many sweaty beach trips lugging around a cabana for a “quick dip,” too many park visits where we ended up shuffling every five minutes to chase the shade, and a few outings where there was no shade at all. Eventually, we started staying home, and that just did not sit right. We wanted our baby to experience the outdoors with us, safely and comfortably, and we wanted the freedom to actually enjoy it too.

That was the lightbulb moment. If the product we needed did not exist, we would create it. And so, ShadyBaby™ was born.

Compact, pram-ready, and tested under the harsh Australian sun, it lets your baby enjoy tummy time, feeds, or shady play beyond the pram without the stress of bulky gear.
